1 - Speak their language












A recent poll of millenials showed that given the choice, young people today would rather give up their calling feature than their texting feature on their phone.

Bottom line - Millennial's want to text and they will do anything that saves them time. 

Making it simple to learn about clubs events via text is a natural win for clubs.

This goes not only for young singles, but for families as well. 

Make your club family friendly. This includes having nice high chairs, toys for the kids to play with at meal time and if you want to really blow their minds, give the kids a little cookie dough to make a cookie so the parents can talk.

Make your bar more welcoming. Add a TV and create a sports bar atmosphere. 

Your club is competing with the cool new hotspot downtown, so compete.

3 - Upgrade your non golf services











Nowadays taking care of kids is much more equaly divided amoung spouces. 

Most young people don't have 4.5 hours to spend on a Sunday to play golf.  I think it's one of the reason's golf has lost over 5 million players in the last ten years.

So if golf isn't as much of a focal point on the membership, what else can your club offer?

Do you offer a state of the art fitness facility?

How about a zero entry kids pool or a water slide?

Fun snack bar?

These are just ideas, I know you're not going to suddenly redo your pool, but if you are, you better be keeping kids in mind.

Think about creating experiences, venues and services at your club, people can't find anywhere else.
